The Jane Austen Fangirl in me: 1 out of 5

The Whimsical Silly Girl in me: 5 out of 5

Overall Rating?? 3 out of 5

Well, this post is going to be fairly short and sweet because there isn’t a whole lot to say about it except…OMG is correct!! HA HA HA! I don’t even know what to say about this one. I’ve been trying to be good and not post reviews on my JAFF (Jane Austen Fan Fiction) But,with this one I COULDN’T HELP MYSELF!!

Pride and Prejudice told entirely through social media and emojis…. being a Noob in the social media world I actually had to highlight some of the acronyms to look up what they meant!!

Don’t hate me for not understanding these… and try not to laugh when I tell you what I had to look up.. But, for all of those out there who are NOT down/up?? with all the Terms:

SMH: Shaking My Head

TBT: Throwback Thursday

IMHO: In My Humble Opinion

OTP: One True Pairing

NTM: Not Too Much

And for those of you who decide to check out this book THERE’S A LEGEND AT THE BACK THAT TELLS YOU WHAT ALL THE TERMS MEAN!!! THAT would have been nice to know when I was Google searching all of these terms! Lol!!

For a taste of how the book reads.. here you go!

“From: Jane Bennet To: Lizzy Bennet

Subject: Lonely in London Lizzy!

It’s been 4 weeks and I still haven’t run into Bingley. 😣His sister waited 2 weeks(!) to say hi. 😳When she did come over, she was so incredibly rude. I don’t want 2 b friends 👭 w/ her anymore. Maybe she’s protective of Bingley?? But that doesn’t make sense bc he’s completely ghosted 👻me anyway. No📱 , no 📩, no✉ . Nothing. 😳💔Caroline even said he knew I was here. Maybe I’ll never find 💓. Time to start collecting 🐱s! Hope things are better on your end. xox Jane”

I thought this book was very humorous and really well done just because of the characters and how I could TOTALLY see them on social media!!

Mrs. Bennet: Mrs. Bennet took a quiz. Using one emoji, describe your daughters.

Jane: 😇

Lizzy: 💡

Mary: 📚

Kitty: 😍

Lydia: 😘

👍Kitty likes this. REPLY

But, then seeing Darcy calling Elizabeth Lizzie and using things like #SorryNotSorry had my Jane Austen fangirl heart breaking… Lol! It was definitely one of those books that I’m happy I read, but it also hurt to read it!!

Darcy Swipes Left is Best Served With

Emoji Beer….ok, Fuller’s London Pride

🍻CHEERS!! 🍻

  1. Lol that book sounds both awesome and terrible 😛 Now you mention your love of jane austen fan fiction.. Is pride & prejudice and Zombies any good?

    1. I wasn’t much of a fan if it.. I own it and “sense & sensibility and sea monsters” but, I felt that they were just the original prose with zombies just literally thrown in… They didn’t really try to incorporate them into the story much.

      1. hmm that’s a shame, but good to know because I won’t read them in that case (like pride and prejudice a lot as well)

    1. Ha ha!! Well, this IS pretty close to the classic… With a lot of very modern language, acronyms and emojis in it! Lol! I’m still on the fence about whether I should be delighted or horrified as well… I don’t know if I’ll ever decide! I’d say Jane must be turning in her grave with this one, but she had a pretty wicked sense of humour, so she may have actually found this pretty hilarious! 😂😉

      1. You probably had the best idea to read this with a beer or anything with a bit of alcohol in it. Might be more fun that way!
I’d say this is a great review 😄

  2. I don’t know any of the ones you looked up either.. and probably more. I haven’t heard of this book before but I do like the humor 🙂 (i’m the spelling it all out kind of girl haha)

  3. Oh this soubds fantastic. I love austin retellings. The youtube series with the Benette sisters vlogging was awesome. P&P&Z was suprisingly consistent and explained a few things. Awesome as always

    1. I LOVE the Lizzie Bennet Diaries!! Thank you for reminding me of that! I binge a bunch of it and then forgot about it! Lol!
I wasn’t a huge fan of P&P&Z… I felt it was too much like the original with zombies thrown in. But, it was definitely Interesting!

      1. It was. I just loved that it fit so well. I had a conspiracy theory that the zombies had simply been edited out to begin with

    1. There was SO MUCH I didn’t know! Lol! As for the Lizzie Bennet Diaries, I DEFINITELY have! I love it! (have to catch up though, as I binge watched the first season of it and then forgot all about it… The perils of binge watching.) 😉

  4. Omg! You have Jane fan fiction you haven’t shared? That’s not allowed!🤣🤣🤣. I love a good P&P take off, but I would have needed to look everything up too!

  5. I have read The Phantom of the Opera with emojis and it made me laugh so much! definitely these kind of emoji books are more enjoyable after reading the original. I might give it a try after reading JA (haven’t read anything from her yet *gasp*)

      1. Hahaha!! blasphemy! the horror! I know. I lost my Harry Potter virginity last year, I think this year will be for Jane Austen books 😉 Yep, I think I really need some of her wisdom at the moment 😀

      2. Well, she definitely has a lot of wisdom! And it’s ok to be behind the times… I TOTALLY understand that!!… I mean, missing out in a book from 1813 is REALLY behind the times 😉😘 but, I’m WAY behind on stuff as well! That’s why we read each other’s review. So, even if we don’t get to read it we FEEL like we did! 😄🍻
