That’s right! An INTERNATIONAL HOLIDAY!! Today on April 9th we can all celebrate! And, one of my favourite drinks!!! A gin & tonic is so light and refreshing.
In the 1700s it was discovered by Scottish doctor George Cleghorn that quinine could be used to prevent and treat the disease. … British officers in India in the early 19th century took to adding a mixture of water, sugar, lime and gin to the quinine in order to make the drink more palatable, thus gin and tonic was born!!
Now, let’s get started!!
Gin & Tonic Recipe
Ingredients
- 2oz Gin
- 3oz Tonic Water
- 1 Lime wedge
Directions
- Fill a highball glass with ice
- Add Gin
- Add Tonic
- Stir
- Garnish with lime wedge
Now, there are SO MANY different things to do with a gin & tonic!!! I won’t spoil them all so I can possibly use them in later posts. But, feel free to add more lime to it, swap the tonic for soda water if tonic isn’t your thing, or just add some fruit juice of your choice or simple syrup to it to sweeten it up!
Love the complexity of the recipe😁😁😁😁

Hendricks Gin. My own favorite, after Bombay Sapphire. You are da bomb!

Da Bombay! I love when people catch my little subtle humor. And that really is my favorite summer drink, though they can definitely knock you on your butt. I know of which I speak. 🙂

I would drink them seperately – they’ll definitely mix in my stomach

Oh damn, I am *heartbroken* I missed this! I know a lot of Hemingway fans prefer whiskey, but I think his work pairs particularly well with a G&T 🙂
