So, two people I love to chat with had a conversation of their own posted today!! James J. Cudney from This is my Truth Now who has just released his new book Father Figure and Shalini from Book Reviews, Et Al by Shalini.

I was also asked by Shalini what cocktail would go best with this interview, so before heading over there I’d first like to say HAPPY NATIONAL AMARETTO DAY!!!  Which ties in PERFECTLY with my drink!!

A Panty Dropper Martini!!

In honour of Jay’s “debriefing” and amaretto day, I thought it was a very fitting cocktail! (It would have been up earlier… but, I needed pina colada mix and it was 9am… Lol!! I’m nothing if not dedicated!!

I got the idea for this one from Bar Notes unfortunately, their “Preparation” section was empty!! …so, I had to wing it! (Looks pretty though, if I do say so myself!!!!) I also had to take a little poetic license with some of the ingredients as I can’t get some of them here… and it was 9am…

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Pina Colada mix
  • 1 oz Vanilla Vodka (I had to use marshmallow vodka as it was the closest I had to vanilla in my liquor room!!)
  • 1 oz Amaretto
  • 1oz Pineapple Juice
  • 1/5 oz Lime juice

Directions (my made up directions, at least!!)

  1. Fill shaker with ice
  2. Add Pina Colada mix, Vodka and Lime Juice
  3. Shake until cold and slightly frothy
  4. Drain into glass
  5. Slowly add Amaretto pouring over the back of a spoon to layer on top
  6. Slowly add Pineapple Juice the same way
  7. Stir before drinking!
  8. CHEERS!! (AND WATCH THE PANTY’S DROP!!)

I am Nicole and I am an avid reader and an alcohol connoisseur.. which it totally different from an alcoholic.. I swear. I will also say that I am very honest and I will not pander to the popular or feel the need to give a good review just because I got an ARC read of a certain book. I believe that everyone deserves the truth no matter how much it hurts.. EVEN ME! I would love everyone’s opinions! AND LET THE DRINKS FLOW!! (Let’s just not have the drinks make the honesty get TOO out of hand!) ;p

      12. Nahhh. It didn’t go down to the briefs. It stayed up with the drink. You made the drink and the panties go down the way it did. You are one wicked woman.
        And Jay would be known more for this than father figure.
        Man I am so screwed hahahahaha
        But I still maintain

      32. Hey I don’t know much about drinks… But for you it would be some drink which has a flame on top, with that fiery feeling as it goes down the throat, and the next day massive hangover.
        You have to post such a drink

  3. I don’t see why the hour of 9:00 a.m. would hold you back. It’s 5:00 p.m. somewhere, remember? I’m so anxious to read this book now. Second review of it and they are all excellent. The drink looks delish, and since it has fruit, hello, it could be your morning smoothie.

  10. I had to re-read this all today to see if I caught everything. You were all BUSY! And I had several drinks last night with some new friends in the movie-making business… but I did keep my clothes on after the minimum of 3.
