Who Wants to Join a Terry Pratchett Read-a-Thon?!

Hello all!

I was visiting Kathy @ Pages Below the Vaulted Sky and we got to talking about the Discwold series by the wonderful late Sir Terry Pratchett, she really wants to read them for the first time, and I really want to read them again, but 41 books is a little intimidating!!

But less intimidating in a team!!!

So, I’m put out a call to anyone who wants to join us! It’s going to be quite the long haul, but I am going to make things easy as I’m going to make it easy on all of us and just do one book a month, we will all post our reviews on the same day with links to anyone else who is participating!

Now, on to how to get involved!

Well, this is the easy part!! As there are so many of these books, you don’t have to commit to the whole thing! We will go month by month and I will put up a new post reminding everyone of which book we are on, what date we will post reviews and getting a head count for the month. So, feel free to re-read some of your favourites, or join us for ones that interest you! I only ask that if you commit to a month, you follow through or let me know ASAP as I will send out lists of participants for the month so we can all share links to the other participants in our reviews.

We will be starting in July to hive anyone joining in a chance to get the book!

Book: The Colour of Magic

Date for Review Post: Monday July 23rd (post dates will always be the last Monday of that Month)

Anyone who wants to join in just Comment below, or reach out on Goodreads, Facebook, Instagram or through my contacts page!

I hope you will join Kathy and I!

Cheers!!

    1. Ha ha!!! That’s not an answer!! Well, you’ve got until July to figure out what side of the fence you’re on! Remeber, you don’t have to join the WHOLE THING, I’m going to go month by month to make it easy for everyone! 💖

    1. Well, if you change your mind, let me know! It doesn’t have to be anything amazing for the review, just your general thoughts so we can all compare and discuss… It’s like a book club! 💖 I won’t be sending out the official list of participants until closer to posting date, so just let me know! (no pressure, of course! I’m going to make this as street free as I can for all of us!) 👍🎉

  2. I’ve been meaning to read this series for so long too (for the first time). Love the idea and would totally embark on this adventure, but I’m not completely sure if I’d be able to. I’ll definitely keep in mind the review date and let you know if I actually do end up doing it!! 😀 😀

      1. Absolutely! How strict are we on the date thing though? Like… If I post the day before (Sunday), would it be a huge issue? In case I have a schedule conflict with my co-blogger on that regard, for example hahah

    1. No problem! I’ll be posting every month to remind people of what book we’re on, give the date to post and collect names of participants for links. Feel free to join whenever you have the time or inclination! 👍🍻

  3. This is SO AWESOME!! I’d like to say I’d join, but I suck royally at commitment haha… However I’d love to read a few once I’ve followed the reviews. I’m a little embarrassed to admit I’ve never ready any of Terry’s books *face palm* This marathon will help me narrow down which to start with so THANK YOU for that! 🙂

      1. I really love them all, but my favourites are any with the witches in it. “equal rites” would be the first one for them. But “wyrd sisters”, “witches abroad”, “lords and ladies”, etc. Are the books for them! The wonderful thing about Terry Pratchett’s Discworld is that there are different focuses within the books. They’ll intertwine, so you may not understand all of the subtle jokes, but they’re still SO GOOD!! 💖💖

      2. Ha ha! Well, you’re in. You have until about a week before to back out. Then I’m going to send the final lost out to everyone for the links list. But, stay! You won’t regret it, it’s like a book club!! 💖😊

  4. Gahhh, I’ve been looking for a copy of The Colour of Magic for *ages* (it’s on my reading project list, and I’m sourcing almost all of them through local secondhand bookstores). People love it too much, they just don’t seem to be willing to part with their copies (or, when they do, they’re snapped up too quickly!). The enduring power of Terry Pratchett is awe-inspiring to me. I’ll be watching on with interest ❤ have fun!!
