I figured that I should get this tag out of the way before it isn’t mid-year anymore!! I was nominated for this tag by Maddie at Munch Reviews please check out her fun and wonderful Book reviews, tags and discussions!

1. BEST BOOK YOU’VE READ THIS YEAR?

100 word horror

I don’t give a 5 out of 5 stars out too often, but every once in a while a book comes along the TRULY deserves it!! THIS WAS ONE OF THEM!! Am I beating a dead horse bring this book up AGAIN?? Probably. So I CARE??? Hell’s no!! . LOVED. THIS.BOOK. That’s right, Nina. Break down!! Read the book!! Although, if you hate it? …don’t tell me. I don’t think my heart could take it. Check out my review HERE.

2. BEST SEQUEL YOU’VE READ IN 2018?

toonopolis chi lin

I honestly think this may have been the ONLY Sequel that’s read thus far this year! I feel that it would have won regardless though. It was great at a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars! Check our my REVIEW!

3. NEW RELEASE YOU HAVEN’T READ YET BUT WANT TO?

gentleman's guide to vice and virtue

I know that this was published last year…. that’s how behind I am!! It even has a SEQUEL already!! I REALLY need to find some time to get to this, I’ve literally heard nothing but good things. Check it out at GOODREADS!

4. MOST ANTICIPATED RELEASE FOR THE SECOND HALF OF THE YEAR?

I honestly CAN’T WAIT for the rest of the Afton series by Brent Jones to come out! I’m so excited to see where it all leads!!

See you Soon, Afton– Aug 7th

Nice Try, Afton– Sept 17th

Time’s Up, Afton-Oct 29th

6. BIGGEST SURPRISE?

tracing shadows cover

I honestly couldn’t even remember requesting this book when I was accepted for the blog tour. I remembered, after reading the synopsis that it was only based on the fact that the MCs name was Kali… which is my nickname. Then, I wound up really enjoying it! Dumb decisions FOR THE WIN!! Check out my review HERE.

7. FAVORITE NEW TO YOU OR DEBUT AUTHOR?

mask beneath her face

I’m going to have to go with my man Rafael Chandler! The Mask Beneath her Face was on of my favourite reads so far this year, and I can’t wait to check out his other novel The Astounding Antagonists!

astounding antagonists

8. NEWEST FICTIONAL CRUSH?

I don’t think that I’ve acquired a new fictional crush!!  …That is so SAD! Now this really IS a mid-year freak out.

At least I’ve been fanning my love for my OLD fictional crushes, by reading variations on how crush worthy he is.

9. NEWEST FAVORITE CHARACTER?

Did is make the list TWICE??? Why yes, IT TOTALLY DID!! Afton is my new spirit animal.

10. BOOK THAT MADE YOU CRY?

I’m going to have to pass on this one because I don’t really read books that make me cry!! The last one I read that brought the waterworks would be

fender

11. BOOK THAT MADE YOU HAPPY?

Cover Ray vs meaning of life

This book was another pleasant happy surprise. A Humorous read with a great message! Check out my REVIEW!

12. FAVORITE BOOK-TO-FILM ADAPTATION?

I don’t actually watch a huge amount of films! I don’t think that I’ve seen a book to film adaptation that really stood out for me this year, so far…. I am looking forward to

Although, I don’t have much hope…..

13. FAVORITE POST YOU HAVE DONE THIS YEAR?

Probably most of the posts I’ve already put links to, since they involved books that have been my favourite! Although I would say that my Game On! Crazy Eights Drinking Game was pretty fun, as well as my Game On! Unicorn Magic Ring Toss!

14. MOST BEAUTIFUL BOOK YOU’VE BOUGHT THIS YEAR?

20180627_093630.jpg

I’d have to give that to my hard cover, embossed copy of Pride & Prejudice! But, I’ve read so many books with amazing covers this year, it’s hard to choose!!!

15. WHAT BOOKS DO YOU NEED TO READ BY THE END OF THE YEAR?

TOO MANY!! Feel free to check out my GOODREADS if you’d like to see the list!!

    1. I think that I’m pretty opposite from everyone! Ha ha! Going through my list for this I realized that I really haven’t read a “normal” triple A kind of title AT ALL!! Ha ha! Well, people won’t see a lot of duplicate reviews out there for most of the books that I choose, at least!

    1. I’m pretty proud of myself for getting to it!! And, drool away! I know that my book choices usually aren’t big popular ones, but they’re AMAZING! I can’t wait for the next half of the year, SO MUCH TO READ!! 😣🤣

    1. That’s even BETTER!! Brent would love that. Afton is amazing! You should definitely check them out (only the 1st one is out, so far) it’s a novella, so a nice short read, and it’s about a homicidal librarian… HOW CAN YOU GO WRONG??

      2. Not ENOUGH vino delecto I say! You didn’t have the spelling mistakes yet!! Oooo…. Neither did I. Maybe it’s just smart phones… They think they’re so smart… 🤓😂📱

    1. I have like 5 copies at least of P&P. So I figured one of them should be super special!! 💖💖 I love it (although, my favourite copy is still my mom’s from school that has all of her notes written in the margins😊)

  3. You’re so lucky three of the Afton series books are coming out so close together! That’s insane that they’re just pumping them out like that. I hope you enjoy everything the rest of 2018 brings to you! 🙂

  4. Omg that 100 Words Horrors is all kinds of hilarious and awesome (though I’m not sure if that was the intent :P) And hell yeah, you should totally read Gentleman’s Guide! Or listen to it! Because I heard the audiobook is narrated by the Tom Riddle guy from Harry Potter and does a fabulous job! 😀

    1. OMG!!! AUDIOBOOK VERSION!!!! This is why I love your blog. YOU ARE SO SMART!!!! 🤓 I love you right now (and always!), I never even thought of that and I could have been through it by now, because I have so much more time to listen to audiobooks. 💖💖🍻😄
And 100 Word horrors is AMAZING!! If you didn’t check out my review; it’s so many different KINDS of horror, and it’s amazing what they can get across in 100 words.. Some of them will have you sitting there after just saying… Wow.

      1. AHAHAHA you’re welcome!! 😂😂😂 I should try the audiobook myself–I’ve just heard so many people praising it lately.
And oh man, 100 Word sounds awesome! And holy crap, it’s only $1.72 on kindle? And only $7.72 on paperback?? And in CANADA no less?? Oh, I’m DEFINITELY picking this up. 😀

  5. I love every part of this post. Lady you are wearing me down on the Horror book! Maybe I’ll have to give in by October. Just so I can say I actually read a horror during the Halloween horror book blog fest that will inevitably happen! 😂
That Jane Austen hard copy is GORGEOUS!
Did you have to use the scene with Darcy going up to Pemberley?! Still waiting for my embossed invitation for my house visit 🤔😙😉

    1. Damn straight!! My staff make fun of me all the time for my love for him. I don’t care. I’m proud of my love for Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy! (or pretty much anything.)
I still absolutely love a quote from him about playing the role of Mr. Darcy,
“I’m fully aware,” Firth told a reporter for the English magazine Now, “that if I were to change professions tomorrow, become an astronaut and be the first man to land on Mars, the headlines in the newspapers would read: `Mr. Darcy Lands on Mars.”
      He’s not wrong!! 😂😂💖💖🍻

      1. He is so right!! I loved him in a lot of other things, but he will always be Mr. Darcy to me! That’s a great quote! And now I think I need to go watch P&P!

      2. Lol maybe but add in the look from the buggy too and the ending:)
It’s amazing, but I never watch the first proposal- too painful!
