Future Movers Series Release by Deryn Pittar

future movers series

Thank you to Books n All for allowing me a spot on this tour

Synopsis

William and Belinda, both genetically altered, meet years after leaving the government-rearing nursery. Their late development allowed them to escape a life devoted to the government’s defence departments. If their skills are now discovered they will be conscripted and never be free again.

William’s talent is to move through space between locations in the blink of an eye. Belinda can lift objects of great weight with her mind. Their relationship creates a raft of problems both struggle to overcome.

‘Catching Love When it Falls’ explores an alternative reality and discovers the one thing neither Belinda nor William can control – love.

My Thoughts

I enjoyed the premise of genetically altered children hiding their powers to be let out of “the Nursery” to have “normal” lives and finding each other out in the world, but it was a little rushed. I wish the book had been longer to allow for the relationship between Belinda and William to grow in a more organic fashion. This was, unfortunately, a bit of a case of insta-love.

“He couldn’t rush the girl. Her petite build created an appearance of fragility, hiding her strong , feisty nature. He needed to find out the extent of her strength. If she could grab a truck , what else could she do? Those lavender eyes had entranced him. He wanted to pick her up and hold her tight. Kiss her delicate lips, exchange his breath with hers and one day-marry her. Yes, as surreal as it seemed, he just knew they were meant for each other , even if it meant a life of “under the radar” living, avoiding the Nursery’s continued checks. All he had to do was convince her he was right. Now that could be the greatest challenge of his life, so far.”

This quote is from Chapter 3… MARRIAGE?! Can we at least get to Chapter 5 first??

I also found Belinda a little manic. She’s happy, she’s angry, she’s happy, she’s angry… MAKE UP YOUR MIND GIRL!! There was too much abrupt back and forth. William was a little more level headed and his character seemed to make more sense.

If you like a cute YA fantastical romantic read than this is a short, easy poolside book.

  1. Where is your pineapple, Nicole?! 😂 I saw this review pop up for a split second the other day, just in my notifications, and I felt validated because that happens to me too….alll the time. WordPress, give me bigger buttons. Or something.

Now back to the book. Your review is thoughtful, the cover is lovely, and I love the title. It sounds like it will be a wonderful book for the right fit. I love the sounds of this drink, but I’d like mine with pineapple please. ♥️ 🍍

    1. HA HA HA!!! Ya… KINDA forgot about this post. It was supposed to be up on Sunday and I had to randomly go out of town to look at a property and was a HUGE LOSER and forgot about it… So, this was a little last minute. I’ll add the pineapple in when I can get some, and I’ll message you so you can see. 😁😘

      1. I think it tried to go up on Sunday?! Or one of your posts did, but then it came back down really fast. So I thought it was just me who accidentally posted scheduled posts live instead of later in the week. 😂 I think it must be just me! No worries about the pineapple! I was just teasing you! 💗 But I do love pineapple!

      2. Oh, no way. I do a lot of my posts, either live or very near too… I just can’t seem to get ahead of myself no matter how hard I try! Lol! The best I do is the night before scheduled for the next morning. 😉

  2. Well…I guess some people move faster than light at times: I mean a friend of mine decided on marriage after knowing the guy for a month🙄🙄 Needless to say, the still aren’t married at this point lol 😂😂 Well…I agree that the premise sounds pretty cool: other than that this just doesn’t seem to be a book for me (even though I am a hopeless romantic lol 😂😂). The drink though seems nice!! And not te mention very tasty! So…yay…new post and a good one at that 😊😊

    1. Ha ha!! A MONTH?! THAT’S CRAZY!! But I can’t say anything. My in-laws met on separate trips to Hawaii and got married after a similar time-frame… And they’re STILL TOGETHER!! after almost 50 years! So, I guess love at first sight is real for some. 😍😘😁

      1. Haha…well I guess it can be true for some people. I’m a hopeless romantic anyway, so I guess I can still believe in something like that. It’s nice though: 50 years almost is an amazingly long time 😊

    2. You’ve probably heard those stories of idividual getting drunk in Vegas and waking up the next day with a ring on thier finger , a massive headache and a stripper lying next to him in bed.

Can you IMAGINE THAT RASTLIN !
If that happened to you what your reaction be? 😂😂😂😂 I would be such a hastle to get a divorce I would probably stick with it , unless she had a Horrible personality….
