But I Digress…Personality Test: Taken 2 Ways!

So, I got this idea from Joseph Beech! Go check out his results, and his awesome blog!! It was such a great idea to take the test and talk about whether you agree, or disagree with the results, that I had to steal the idea!! (I’ll have to do the second test at a later date and see how that one works out!!
If you want to take the test for yourself, feel free HERE!!

Factor Score
Extraversion 22
Agreeableness 31
Conscientiousness 26
Emotional Stability 13
Intellect/Imagination 45

You score high on intellect/imagination.

Openness to experience: (inventive/curious vs. consistent/cautious). Appreciation for art, emotion, adventure, unusual ideas, curiosity, and variety of experience. Openness reflects the degree of intellectual curiosity, creativity and a preference for novelty and variety a person has. It is also described as the extent to which a person is imaginative or independent, and depicts a personal preference for a variety of activities over a strict routine. High openness can be perceived as unpredictability or lack of focus. Moreover, individuals with high openness are said to pursue self-actualization specifically by seeking out intense, euphoric experiences, such as skydiving, living abroad, gambling, et cetera.

You score low on emotional stability.

Emotional stability: (secure/confident vs. sensitive/nervous). The opposite pole of neuroticism, low impulse control and the tendency to experience unpleasant emotions easily, such as anger, anxiety, depression, and vulnerability. A low need for stability causes a reactive and excitable personality, often very dynamic individuals, but they can be perceived as unstable or insecure.

You score moderately low on extraversion.

Extraversion: (outgoing/energetic vs. solitary/reserved). Energy, positive emotions, surgency, assertiveness, sociability and the tendency to seek stimulation in the company of others, and talkativeness. Low extraversion causes a reserved, reflective personality, which can be perceived as aloof or self-absorbed.

You score moderately low on conscientiousness.

Conscientiousness: (efficient/organized vs. easy-going/careless). A tendency to be organized and dependable, show self-discipline, act dutifully, aim for achievement, and prefer planned rather than spontaneous behavior. Low conscientiousness are flexible and spontaneous, but can be perceived as sloppy and unreliable.

My Thoughts on the Results

Well, first of all… I love all of the questions about my thoughts on “abstract thoughts” when this quiz in itself is pretty much an abstract thought! Ha ha! How can one rate oneself objectively??

I mean, “Have Excellent Ideas” …and I’m supposed to rate how I am with this?? Well, Excellent ideas according to WHO?? Or “Don’t Like to Call Attention to yourself” ….well, I may not LIKE to call attention to myself… but, it may somehow seem to happen all the same… does that still count?? Or “Like Order” well, at work I am a VERY meticulous person and I love things to be clean and organised…..at home?? Well, that’s another story…

Also, my intellect is high?? REALLY?? Nicole…. is that a PICTURE of your results because you couldn’t figure out how to save the image of the results??WHY, YES IT IS!! I will NOT argue against me being emotionally unstable, though! Ha ha!

I almost think that I should get someone who knows me to take the quiz FOR me to see what the result would be…… hmmmm… THERE’S AN IDEA!!!

Results: Take 2!

So, I really liked my idea of having someone else take the test for me, and decided to get my man to take it for me and see how our results differed!! We’ve been together for 10 years… so,he SHOULD be a pretty fair judge!

How did we fair??

Agreeableness: (friendly/compassionate vs. analytical/detached). A tendency to be compassionate and cooperative rather than suspicious and antagonistic towards others. It is also a measure of one’s trusting and helpful nature, and whether a person is generally well-tempered or not. High agreeableness is often seen as naive or submissive.

You score moderately low on extraversion.

My Thoughts on Take 2

First of all…. Nicole, NO PHOTO??? Nope! With my man on scene, I finally figured out how to actually take a screenshot of the results…. HA HA!!

As for the results… they were fairly similar!! (apparently my man thinks I’m WAY MORE Emotionally stable! …I’LL TAKE IT!!) He felt the same way as me about the questions, continually asking “what do you think they mean by this??” Obviously I told him to figure it out himself. Ha ha! I didn’t want to skew the results!! But, it is hard to judge things like “Always makes a mess of things” …..in the house? In my life?? I mean…. that could mean anything!!

All in all, I think it worked out pretty good. Do I agree with the results?? Maybe not entirely…. but, since both attempts reflected similar results…. who am I to argue??

      1. Some studies have linked low emotional stability with success at university… and it makes evolutionary sense that some of us should react more strongly to stressors than others. So don’t feel bad! It’s interesting, anyway!

I haven’t done it in years, but I think my score on Intellect/Imagination was frighteningly low haha

  1. I definitely plan on taking this test for myself at some point and see what the results will be (I mean I have a fairly good idea how that might end up, but still, have to take the actual test to see it confirmed lol😂).
This really was a fun idea to let the test be taken by your man as well, and if the results are pretty much similar, well…then there certainly must be some truth to it right? 😊😊True enough though, it is difficult to really judge some aspects of the test, but on the other hand that’s also the fun part I think 😊 Great post! 😀

    1. Ha ha!! Well, aren’t you just pretty well rounded!! 😂😂💖💖 I love hearing about everyone’s results! I’m so glad Joseph did this post!
He posted another test as well that measured the same things, but seemed a little different, I’ll be doing that one at a later date. 😊

      1. I think if I were to take the quiz again RIGHT NOW my results would probably be different! 😂😂 But, I completely agree. I feel that if I had taken this in my youth, my results would have been VERY different!

  2. Lovely test… Took test High on rest and low on emotional stability and extra version – I was about to tell the test that this score is because I am surrounded by irritating duplicitous colleagues so my mood changes to anger so frequently. And so nowadays I am quiet because I don’t want to argue with dumbness any more. Hence I am higher on conscientiousness, intellect. How long can I expect dumb to do fast work.. Hence I pick up slack… 😂😂😂😂💃💃💃💃 So proud of my scores. I work too hard. So taking a break now

  3. I took the test:

    Conscientiousness 42
    Emotional Stability 42
    Intellect/Imagination 46
I have no strong feelings about it!

  4. I would have thought you would be extroverted based on your blog personality! You are definitely inventive and entertaining! This is so much fun. I love that your BF took it and got similar results for you. Now I want to take it. 😂 ♥️

    1. Do it!! Post your results!! 💖💖 And I’m defintitely not an extrovert… I used to be when I was younger… Than the anxiety set in and I decided that I don’t like people. 😉😂 Ha ha!! It’s easy to pretend on the internet. 😉😉

  5. Many of the questions were subjective at best and their answers can vary depending on one’s mood when taking the test. How I scored:
    Intellect 44
    Emotional Stability 39
    Agreeableness 30
    Conscientiousness 28
    Extroversion 19

I am sure that if I retook the test with the stipulation that there could not be any neither responses, the weights would change, but in the end I am not an extrovert and would never be found at a party or chatting with a room full of strangers.

    1. Ha ha!! I agree! I actually made notes about that. Questions like the one about “creating big messes” or something… It was so abstract like.. Messes in my life? In my house?? Or the one about “do you have excellent ideas”! Well, I THINK my ideas are definitely excellent!! 😂😂 But, it was interesting none the less! I thought it was funny that my boyfriend and I did get very similar results for me.

    1. Ya, that was really fun!! I think it’s hard to answer things objectively about yourself… All of the questions about caring about others, and such, a lot of people are going to answer good because we all WANT to be good people! It was funny to watch my man answer and put me “neither here nor there” on all of those questions! 😂😂 THE TRUTH COMES OUT! 😂🤣

  6. I kicked my husband away from helping after he started laughing at my answers! (So much for the accuracy of “agreeableness”) Mine ended up what I like to think of myself. Tests like these (self-reported) are just as accurate as horoscopes, and they’ve lasted a long time, so there must be something to them, right? 😉

  7. Oh, that was a hoot! Gees, I’m so darn boring….pretty much even all across the board except for extraversion. Who cares about that anyway? See what I’ve achieved just by getting (AHEM!) older than y’all? I’m so even it’s pathetic. yawn…😴

  8. I actually love exploring big five personality tests- I get very similar results in emotional stability and openness lol. Hmm that’s an interesting way they asked the question “always make a mess of things” though, cos that could refer to orderliness or neuroticism- very vaguely worded.

  9. Haha I love this! I tried it myself and I immediately started questioning the questions too! Like, I never know when to choose “Neither accurate nor inaccurate” as an answer when I’m doing these tests. And aren’t “have little to say” and “don’t talk a lot” more or less the same thing???

And I scored 0.4% higher than you on extraversion, which I’m highly skeptical of. XD

    1. Ooo… Look at you, you little extrovert!! 😂😂 I had to laugh when my man did the test for me. EVERY TIME there was a question about caring for others he would choose “neither accurate nor inaccurate” I was standing there thinking…. Really?? 😂😂
