It’s Tuesday, November 6th,2018, its also midterm elections. I won’t be vehemently preaching to you that if you live in the United States that you should go out and vote, but I do hope you have already. Today I bring you a small blog post with a question.

Out of Star Wars, Marvel or Lord of The Rings which is your favorite?

This weekend my sister three of her friends a co-worker of mine and my Aunt and Uncle were sipping tea and snacking on cookies. I said I was having a tea party and my Uncle shows up Fully dressed in a SUIT. 😂👌


A question came up that lingered through the party
“The Marvel universe, StarWars and The Lord of the rings are all great,
but what’s your favorite?”

My sister without hesitation replied with
” I like star wars, but their movies have been getting progressively worse…

I am Nicole and I am an avid reader and an alcohol connoisseur.. which it totally different from an alcoholic.. I swear. I am trying to get into the editing world and in doing so I learned that giving my opinions and networking in as many forms of media as I could is the way to get heard! I wanted to create an open forum to pair alcoholic drinks with books based on the theme, feel and/or content of the book. I will warn anyone who joins me here that you will get a very eclectic range of books as I will read anything from Rom Coms, sci-fi, and fantasy to Bizzaro, Steampunk and Biographies, whatever pairs with an interesting drink! I will also say that I am very honest and I will not pander to the popular or feel the need to give a good review just because I got an ARC read of a certain book. I believe that everyone deserves the truth no matter how much it hurts.. EVEN ME! I would love everyone’s opinions! AND LET THE DRINKS FLOW!! (Let’s just not have the drinks make the honesty get TOO out of hand!) ;p

  2. I read LOTR when I was in high school, and while the movies were cool, the whole world never really settled that well on me (because I actually hate Frodo… sorry, super unpopular opinion here!!).
    I’m also not a huge Star Wars fan because I only ever watched the movies for the first time about 5 years ago. So, I actually have more love for the new movies, which I also know is a super unpopular opinion… (to be fair I watched the movies in episode order, so I through to VI, and I’ve only seen the original trilogy once).
    Marvel however, is a world that I have lived in in so many formats since I was a teenager. I’ve read comics, graphic novels, watched th shows and SO MANY movies. I love each new time they recreate the worlds, and I especially love how dark the third phase of the MCU is. So, for me it’s Marvel.
    Also, *phew* longest answer ever!!

      1. Honestly it wasn’t the books that made me love it so it was the movies. They editing and cinematography really made teh world come alive. Also the acting too. I’ve always loved StarWars but if I had to chose a LoTR marathon over StarWars I would. Or both… Both is good.
        I enjoy Marvel movies but I honestly never watch them more than once. I wish I could read more of the comics but I never know where to start. My favorite comics though are Fables and Saga so I like the scifi or fantasy a bit more than superhero.

      1. Because of its various reincarnations. You get the same characters put in different situations. And I grew up on the cartoons haha. I’ve had a huge crush on Wolverine since I was like 4 lmao

      1. I was thinking about that when I wrote the comment, Nicole, and I think it’s the complexity and intricacy of the whole thing and how its all tied together with a magical and yet totally human recipe for a life of friendship and integrity. I like the depth. 🙂
