National Caesar Day!!

Hello, Everyone!

Yesterday was National Caesar Day in Canada! (…. the drink. Not the salad) in 2009, the Caesar was officially declared Canada’s National Cocktail by Parliament. So, how could I NOT celebrate?? And, what more Canadian way to celebrate than a garage party with a Caesar recipe concocted by one of my country’s most beloved icons, DAN AYKROYD!

I found this recipe in my local newspaper, but I’ll link it to the same article which I found online in The Chronicle Herald

Directions

  1. Rim glass with Mott’s Clamato Rimmer mixed with edible gold powder.

  1. That porcupine is a hoot. I can only wonder what might’ve happened had the patient been able to “pass the porky.” YIKES!

About that drink: Triple the vodka and hold the wine. All the other stuff sounds delicious. By the way, what is “gold powder?” Flakes from nuggets, maybe? 🙂

    1. They actually have little flakes or sheets of edible gold out there… It’s very thinly shaved 24k gold usually…. Too rich for my tastes! Just give me the booze!! 😂
If you’ve ever had the liqueur Goldschlager, it comes with edible gold in it.

    1. That’s exactly what it is! You just use clamato (tomato clam juice) instead of just tomato juice, then add some stuff to crank up the flavour! Worcestershire sauce, celery salt, hot sauce, horseradish…. The list goes on and on! And the garnishes…. THEY’RE THE BEST PART!! ❤️❤️

    1. I LOVE Caesars!! This recipe was great! The red wine gave it more of a robust dept of flavour without being weird. Lol! I enjoyed it (when I FINALLY got to drink it…. My man and his friend also wanted to take some pics for their Instagram profile “scotch and brass” and wouldn’t let me drink it for almost 20 mins!! 😣
