I was with Fraggle on Katrina, so phew! This week’s selection is a little tougher than I thought when I first saw Sex and Candy as your pick, but after watching/listening to the videos I’m going with my first instinct and voting for Marcy Playground.

Well, that is the original!! So, it’s hard to top. I heard the unions version last night relaxing on the boat and it was just what I needed after a long week and inspired me to do this stand off! 😊

Firstly my faith is restored in your readerships musical nouse. Secondly didn’t know this song and I don’t like it. Bit of a dirge by the Marcy people and made even dirgier by the girly blouse in the middle and the weirdo at the end. I abstain. 😘

Marcy Playground. Altho I like the name Slothrust. But I prefer to pronounce it “Slow Thrust”. Sounds more interesting that way.

I am a Marcy Playground gal, but I think I might actually prefer the Unions version. It’s very smooth (or maybe it’s just what I needed to hear right now!!)
HOWEVER, my fave version of this song is actually the Allen Stone version:

I feel like Allen gets a little too diva for my liking. Lol! But, fair enough! The Unions version wasn’t one I would normally have picked, but it was the instigator for this whole week’s choice! Sitting on my friend’s boat, dangling our feet in the water and having a drink after a VERY tough day and this version came on… It was the perfect song at the perfect time. I feel like I’ll always kind of love it because of the timing. 😊

I totally get that “right place, right time” vibe!! I found the All Time Low version of Umbrella when I was going through a little* emo phase and it’ll probably always be one of my fave songs because of that.
* little being 5 years… 😂🤷🏻♀️
