But I Digress… Who is the Top 40 of your Lordy, Lordy, Lordy

*This is just a funny post. It is not meant to be offensive or religious in ANY WAY! It’s just a “I wonder” kind of scenario I had on a slightly drunken, beautiful summer day (Sad that I have to put this warning…)*

In saying that…. LET’S HAVE SOME FUN!!

I was listening my old records a little while ago and the song “Top Forty” by Sha Na Na came on, if you haven’t heard it, check it out!

and in typical Nicole fashion I DIDN’T take the song as it’s meant “are you good enough to make it into Heaven and be in God’s good books?” Instead I thought, “if God had a Top 40 list…. as in MUSIC, who would be on the list??”

Would God like songs that praise his name??

Or, maybe he’s a little more contemporary…

Or a little more down to Earth??

Maybe he’s a serious Disney fan??

Maybe he’s a closet metal fan??

Or maybe he goes against the grain and rebels, listening the to songs that point out his flaws…. or truths?

What songs do you think God kicks back and listens to on his off-time?? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. Definitely “Losing My Religion.” I also love Joan Osbourne’s “One of Us.” Another good one by her is “St. Teresa,” which in my opinion, God must groove to quite often. Maybe “Redemption Song” by Bob Marley? Finally, how could you forget “Personal Jesus” by Depeche Mode?

      1. I remember watching a YouTube video of Depeche Mode live in concert and a girl was holding up a huge sign that read “I’m Faith!” and I about died laughing! Well, ok, now you’re just being pedantic. Jesus is technically God, right? The trinity? They’re all one. You didn’t specify so I still think “Personal Jesus” belongs in this canon. So there. 🙂 LOL!

      2. Lmao!! I said this WASN’T supposed to be a religious debate!! 🤣🤣 I’ll give you whatever you say. I haven’t been to Sunday school in too many years to argue anything. 😉 Well… I mean I COULD. I really DO love to play Devil’s advocate… 😈😈

      3. Bring it, sister…..and I mean that in the literal sense! LMAO! OK, you win. I’ve never spent NYE in an abbey, though I did stay in a convent in Italy during my trip there. It was surreal.
