Welcome to Music Monday (hosted by Drew @ The Tattooed Book Geek) with my spin on it “Who Did it Better?” Where I put multiple versions of the same song up against each other to find out who reigns supreme!!
First, last week’s winner!
Who Did it Better?” Take a Chance on Me”
Abba
VS
Erasure
And, the winner is…………………………..

ABBA!! …..BY ONE VOTE!!
Now, on to this week’s stand off!
Who Did it Better? “Will you Still Love me Tomorrow”
Ok…. I’m going to be heading into some tough ones in the near future. There are some great songs with SO MANY DIFFERENT VERSIONS!! I try to keep it to maximum 4 choices. So, feel free to cast a write in vote if there’s one you like better. Some of the future songs I want to feature are going to be tough to narrow down!
Roberta Flack
VS
The Shirelles
VS
Ben E. King
VS
Carole King
Ok. I know I said max 4 choices. But, this was one of my original choices that got bumped. (for my reason, see comments.) But, I had to add it back after Cherie @ From Michigan to Germany brought it up. So, added is
Amy Winehouse
I like the Shirelles version the best with Carole King as a close second.

But the best (Not listed) is by Amy Winehouse.

Ha ha!! So funny you say that because I bumped Amy for Carole!! 😂😂 I adore Roberta Flack… So, I couldn’t bump her, I needed a version with a man, so Ben had to stay, and Carole wrote the original song… So, I felt like she needed to be on there. But, you’re right. Amy did a fantastic job. I was so close to leaving 5 versions. Just seems like a lot since lately I’ve only been getting about 7 votes! 😂 Thanks for the vote!

It’s hard not to vote for the woman who wrote the song! (even though, funny enough, she wasn’t the original singer of it!)

Well you confused me by having Winehouse’s name above the Roberta Flack video for a start! Carole King for me, everyone else is just a wannabe. 🙂

Ha ha!! They go in the order that they’re listed! And, hey! The Shirelles were technically the 1st ones to sing it! 😉 Thanks for the vote. 🍻

Thanks for the vote, Jay! Check back next week to see if they won. Looks like it’ll be fairly close between them and Carole!

That was in Tapestry, one of the best albums ever published.

Ok, Carole King, but you’re making me cry with Amy Winehouse’s version… Such a sad loss, I really loved her! 😩

How about this? “Muhammed’s Radio” by Linda Ronstadt or Warren Zevon or Jackson Browne or Warren Zevon & Stevie Nicks duet or ????

Love Mohammed’s Radio! The only problem with those versions are that they’re so similar! It’d be hard to choose between them!
I like to try to go with variations that are somewhat different so it’s more a style and artist thing. 😊…. Although, I missed it this week. Guh. Work. 😣
