    1. Ha ha! Definitely MY unpopular choice. I mainly put it in for others. I know that she’s loved by others! 😂 But, as you know, I don’t judge. I just like to show off music to others and share opinions! So, thanks for joining in! ❤️❤️

      1. Lol…well, luckily as you know I don’t judge either 😂😘😊 Lol…and even funnier…I don’t even know her, but I liked her version the best so that’s why I chose it 😂😂😂
No problem, always a pleasure 😊❤️

  1. Hi Nicole.

Congratulations to David and Peter on y’alls big win last week!

    Erma:
I was looking for some deep down soul on this one. I got a slickly produced, nice song. Erma is a good singer. the back-ups were pretty and competent. Yes, a very competent and slightly soulful version, but it did not do it for me.

    Faith:
    Bwuh——HAAAAHHHHH-hahahahahahahahaha!!!

    Ah-Hah!-hahahahahahaha!!!!!

    What a joke!
How inappropriate to assimilate this from out of its true genre.
Is she deliberately trying to sound like Dolly Parton?
    Why all the eighties shtick?
Saccharine. Fake. It had no substance. It was nothing but empty product.
I hate to say it, but she is not particularly attractive while she is singing. Her mouth has a scary screeching look to it.
Damn you Nicole. That girl is going to give me nightmares.

    Janis:
When the video opened, I I thought that she was playing on the floor of a large room and encircled by fans. It is later revealed that she is on a low stage. Those were some kooky, early hippy fans she pulled on-stage. The end credits contain a few German words making me think this video was shot in Germany. If so, it might explain how the whole performance came across so strangely.

This is not the best version of this song, but even so, Janis easily beats out Erma. Janis is tired, out of her element, out of the country and on the road, strung out on who knows what, yet she actually puts on a true rock performance. She was not playing to the camera. She was playing to the room and trying to make a connection. As always, she does not hold back one ounce of her being. Janis bares herself and puts it all out there, every time. What a consummate performer.

Miss Joplin for the win please, Fraulein Nicole.

    1. HA HA HA HA!!!!!!! I completely agree with you about the Faith Hill version. I put her in because I knew if I didn’t SOMEONE out there would say “but, what about the Faith Hill version??” As much as she isn’t MY cup of tea, people love her (my man being one of them… But, I don’t think that’s her music… 🙄)
I can’t help but love Janis no matter what the context. She’s so raw. She may sound like a banshee who smoked 11 packs before getting in stage, but something about her still pulls me back!
Erma… I loved her voice. I agree with the production value, but if you saw the beginning of the video is was actually recorded on location. I feel like that usually lowers production value. I can’t really fault her on this one! I still think she gives a good tone to the song. 😊 Thanks for weighing in! I’ve missed you, Ichy my pal! ❤️🍻

    1. Unfortunately, you haven’t missed much! We’ve had some drastic recent changes at my big girl job which has required 7 days a week, 11-16 hr days from me… Hopefully things will settle again soon! On the plus side, I do have some reviews coming out from now on, so stay tuned! 😊🍻

    1. Awww… I’m ALWAYS thinking about you! With how hectic my life has been, Germany feels like SO LONG AGO! It was good, though! I’ve missed you!! Let me know how life is going. I saw a post from you, and I’m going to try to check it out!
