  1. Leseley Gore is the original I think, but a year later Dusty Springfield did it, and I think she has a more womanly voice. Joan Jett should stick with rock n roll, and the three wives club is just silly. 🙂
    Dusty for the win!

  2. Hi Nicole. Thanks for selecting a groovy song.

    Leslie Gore:
Leslie is a little quirky, but I like it. Her quirkiness evens out during the song as she gains in strength and confidence. At the end of the song, she is truly, ringing out.

    Joan Jett:
I luv Joan. Me and Joanie go WAY back. This version, though, was just a straight up cover. She does not rave it up. It is more orchestral, than rock. She does not achieve the same climax as Leslie made it to.

    Bette, Dianne, and Goldie:
I’m a long time fan of Bette and Goldie. All three girls seemed to enjoy the song. It looked like a fun scene, however, it was pretty cheesy. Overproduced and cheesy.

In a major upset, a baby girl from out of nowhere has knocked out some heavy-hitter usurpers.
Miss LESLIE GORE for the big win! Congratulations! May you always be young and free.

    APOLOGIES TO NICOLE!!!
But here is my true, number one choice:

    1. O.M.G. Not only is that my new favourite version. It’s going into the mix as a contender!! And, I really didn’t like the Joan Jet version, either. But, I love Joan in general so I put it in. I’m going to replace that with Dusty for Fraggle, though!

  3. So the first time I ever heard this song was the version in the First Wives Club I watched it with my mom in theaters and it was so much fun people actually started singing with them! I’m giving it to that one for sentimental purposes and the fact it always makes me smile 🙂
