Ok, so this is my father’s favourite song. Well, sadly my parents will be moving away from me at the beginning of next month, and I’d like him to be around so I can see his reaction to this post! So, Dad?? THIS ONE’S FOR YOU!

  1. ooh I love this song! Great choice for a face-off. I go for the righteous brothers, mainly because I know that version so well it is difficult to listen to another one and not just imagining I’m listening to the version of the righteous brothers. But I also love their version because of how they sing the high notes with so much fragile emotions and tenderness.

Altough I have to say that I also really like Elvis’ version of the song.

I am sorry to hear your parents are moving away though. I hope it’s not for a bad reason.

    1. Ya, the Righteous Brothers version is the one that my Dad would always karaoke, so I know what you mean! And, luckily, no. They’re not moving away for a bad reason. They’ve been cottaging up in that area for years and when my man and I bought a property up there they figured it was about time to live up there year round!

    1. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚… Murder, ghosts, romance… What’s wrong with that for a 10 year old?? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ That’s ok. When I was about 10 my favourite movie was “Rocky Horror Picture Show”… Now, THAT wa inappropriate for that age! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  2. Aww…it’s so nice of you to write this post for your dad. Really…incredibly sweet. I’m sorry that your parents are going to be living further away from you 😒 As someone who has a very close bond to his parents as you know, I know it’s going to be tough.
This was a very nice thing of you to do though😊
My vote goes to……..Righteous Brothers. Because I just love the movie Ghost…it never fails to bring a tear to my eyes (yeah…I know I am a softie), but it’s also a great version of the song 😊

  3. I have to give it to the Righteous Brothers although I’m sure your dad sings it amazingly well as well!

My parents just moved closer to me three years ago? We lived a couple hours away for many many years, it is nice having them here! But there are advantages to them being further away as well, LOL

  4. I’m so late to the party! Firstly, you have property other than the property you are in so you get a Certificate of Poshness! Secondly I like Joni Mitchell’s Unchained Melody, which isn’t the same as these somehow. πŸ™„πŸ˜€ I think the Righteous Brothers won anyway so just ignore this comment 🀣
