What a fun, sexy romance!

I really enjoyed the character of Alex. He was strong, assertive and he wouldn’t take no for an answer. Probably from being a second son who wasn’t meant to inherit the family land, but was willing to fight tooth and nail to keep it, even if no one thought he would be able to.

“Alex gritted his teeth the same way he always did when his father’s words ambushed his thoughts. His father had never wanted Alex to have the ranch, had never thought he’d be capable of running it . But in a sad twist of events, it was his now. And if he could make the seemingly impossible happen with his inheritance, then he could apply the same stubborn will to Britney.”

The chemistry between Alex and Britney is enjoyable, and I loved some of the descriptions, but I wish that there wasn’t SO MUCH “but, she wanted him”, “but, he wanted her” …We get it! So, just do it already! But, THAT KISS!

“Oh, sweet Jesus, how that man could kiss. It was smooth and luxurious, but at the same time urgent and greedy. It was as though he’d been waiting all year to claim her as his, and now that he had the opportunity, he was determined to do a thorough job of it. With every caress, with a sweep of his tongue, with every pleasure-filled moan that escaped, she slipped further under his spell. It wasn’t long before she caught herself wondering why she’d ever left this man.”

As always (it seems) with books like this, some of the secondary characters were my favourites!! I absolutely love Malu, the straight talking houskeeper,

“Mind telling me what she meant by ‘hapai’?

He leaned forward on the roll bar, stretching his lean body while looking at something over his shoulder. “She was suggesting I knock you up.”

And Alex’s friend Caz, who even though not in the book much, had some of the best lines!

“If you even make a half-hearted attempt to appear like you’re hanging on her every word, you’re golden.” (great advice Romeo!)
“Glad to hear some common sense from you. For a moment, I was worried you’ve been watching too many of those Hallmark movies or something.” (there is NOTHING wrong with Hallmark Movies!!)

If I hadn’t had the blog tour scheduled for today, this would have been a great Cozy Sunday with a steamy twist.
