Book the Fifth:
4 out of 5 Stars
This was a Kindle Worlds, St. Helena Vineyard Series Novella given to me by the author in exchange for an honest review.
Honestly, I loved it! It was a nice easy read right on par with Pamela Gibson’s other novels.
Molly O’Reilly is a small town reporter for the St. Helena Sentinel who is looking for a free-lance feature that she can use to get some extra money for Christmas. When she starts to get to know Cade Logan, the mechanic in town that she’s secretly had a thing for, could she have found the story she’s looking for? And will Cade be comfortable enough to share it with her?
This was a beautiful, heartwarming Novella. Even though it was short (like all Novella’s) Pamela managed to really paint a picture of the town, the people and the relationship between Molly and Cade and also between Molly and her daughter. I loved the thought behind the Christmas Angel on their tree as stated by Susie, Molly’s daughter, “The angel is a little girl in heaven who doesn’t have a tree of her own. Mommy and I got it so she could share mine.” What a beautiful sentiment that I will keep with me always. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to look at an Angel tree topper the same again.
I highly recommend this Novella! Especially for those who don’t have a lot of time to read in the Holiday Season and just need a quick pick-me-up. While I’m at it I love love to recommend Pamela’s other Novels. Her ‘Love in Wine Country’ Series is what made me want to read this Novella to begin with. The Christmas Angel is Best Served With
A Napa Valley Wine
Well, I know that it’s not a Holiday Drink… But honestly, I had to take a little break. All the sweet Holiday drinks were going to give me diabetes. Instead, for this book, I had to go with a nice full bodied red wine! Choose whatever wine you wish to go with. I thought that I would go with the theme and stick with Napa Valley, California. It’s always lovely to crack a bottle of a nice wine and read a wonderful story.
To stay on trend:
