The Kingsmen, of course. I believe the Kinks’ version was the same as The Kingsmen. Somebody messed up and repeated the Kingsmen’s version under the Kinks’ name. Or else I’m crazy. 🙂

Well this week was hard work! Only the top video by Kingsmen was ‘available’ and I didn’t think much of his whingey voice. I searched the others but found the bloody kingsmen pretending to be the Kinks so still haven’t heard that one. Motörhead? Your having a giraffe, vastly overrated band though the Lemon guy was funny. I couldn’t find the others but nobody with the name ‘Toots and the Maytals’ should be allowed to be a band. I did however find a fab grungy version by Iggy Pop so I’m voting for him. 😘😀

Boo!! Though I love Iggy Pop, Toots is AMAZING!! I wish you could have heard that version. They’re a FABULOUS classic raggae group. One of my favourites! Thanks for the vote! I was fully expecting you making a stand against such a daft song. 🤣🤣

That was actually my first thought, that it was such a crap song it couldn’t be done well by anyone really, but I tried to play nice. 🤣 of course now I wish I hadn’t. 🤣🤣🤣

Ha ha ha!!! 🤣🤣 Well, it’s bound to happen every once in a while! It’s just what I love about you. Some songs that I choose I think “Oooo… What smart ass comment is Fraggle going to make about this one?” I LOVE IT!! What can I say? I’m a bit of a masochist. Must be why we get along so well. 😙😙

Hahahaa yep! Game on! Batten down the hatches and splice the mainsails. There probably should be a shiver me timbers in there too but I’m not so keen on that one when I’m nautical.

I didn’t actually know who performed this song or which version I liked but listening to the provided versions, the one I like is the Kingsmen. That must be the version I usually hear because it was just really comfortable to listen to.

This is especially a tough one Nicole because like Fraggle I’m not a fan of the song. Out of the three though,I’d go with Toots. Now I have to go look up more of their songs!☺️

They’re so fantastic, Kim!! Pressure Drop, Funky Kingston and 54-47 (that’s my number) are all fantastic songs… There are so many more, as well!! ❤️❤️ Great, easy classic reggae. 😁

Sorry I am so long in replying. I wanted to give all the songs a good shot.
I am the most familiar with the Kingsmen version. I like their suits and the dudes smirk was unexpected. Plus for having dancers.
The Kinks were identical to the Kingsmen…. ??? I expected more from Ray and the Gang.
Toots was just, … meh.
Motorhead was surprisingly good! Yay! Back when they still had Philthy Phil Taylor on the drums! Cute:Little Baby Lemmy for the win!
