Star Wars- The Battle at Yavin, Part 6

Hello all!!! Welcome to Part 6 of my 12 year old tale! (….as in, I wtoe it when I was 12… not that it’s 12 years old. Sadly, it’s MUCH MORE than 12 years old!!)

Han sat up numbly, wondering where he was. Looking a round he saw smooth metallic walls before noticing the crumpled form beside him,

“Hey, sleeping beauty.” He joked to Lando Calarissian who was beginning to rise shaking his head,

“Whoever heard o f getting a hangover without drinking.” He mumbled angrily, his eyes half closed.

“Do you have any idea where we are?” He asked slowly.

Han shook his head non-commitally.

Looking around the room they were in showed that they were in a sleek metal room with no windows, Han couldn’t even figure out where the door was, until it opened with a swish a minute later. Han winced at the blinding glare of light that shot through the door as it opened and it took several minutes for his eyes to focus on the figure in the doorway,

“Cray?!” Han asked in surprise. He had only seen her a couple of times before, but he could remember her as though he had seen her yesterday. She had the same blonde hair, though it was cut short, she had the same lean figure, though she was thinner, she looked tired and haggard but the one thing he recognized first was her striking clear blue eyes,

“You . . . you know me ? ” She asked stumbling over her words .

“I should have figured you wouldn’t remember me. I only you a couple of time s when you were on Yavin with Luke.” “Yavin…”Cray’s eyes took on a strained look as though were trying to place memories with the name, “Luke? ”

“Cray, what’s wrong?, Don’t you remember Luke? Skywalker? and you giving your life to save Callista from a computer?” Han looked worriedly at Cray. How could she not remember? Then Cray’s face took on a look of realization,

“Luke?! Luke’s here! I can feel him nearby, he’s in trouble! We have to help him! ”

Luke woke up, dazed and confused. What had happened? His Jedi powers had all of a sudden disappeared, and Luke knew the only thing that could do that to him was the species of lizard called the ysalmirian that kept an invisible shield around itself to block out Jedi powers.

But where was he? His powers were back and he could sense lifeforms nearby, although he didn’t know where because of the distorted feeling running through him.

Looking around the room he noticed that he was in a comfortably furnished living quarters. The door to the far side of the room opened quietly cutting off Luke’s train of thought ,

“I expect you slept well?” Asked Takyeesh as he waltzed majestically through the open door.

“Yes. If you call that sleeping.” Luke replied miserably.

Takyeesh’s smile was beginning to annoy Luke so he looked away pretending to study the walls of the chamber,

“You want something from me.” Luke said slowly, sensing his intentions.

“Oh, on the contrary. I simply want you, shall we say, out of the way for a while.”

Luke’s head shot up at the feeling that was being emitted from Takyeesh, it was pure malevolence,

“Why?” He demanded sharply, but his thoughts revealed the secret, “You plan to test your weapon on Yavin!” Luke shouted angrily. It was clear Takyeesh hadn’t expected this from the look of surprise that shot over his face before he turned and stalked out of the room.

The trainees put all of their energy forth to destroy the combat units that were being released from the star destroyer. They knew that without Luke to over see them they had no real attack plan and that the battle was already lost and nobody wanted to think of the fact that they didn’t have the kind of firepower to go up against a super star destroyer so they had only one choice,

“We have to call trough to Admiral Akbar to bring ships from the New Republic Fleets!” Jacen called over the thundering shots and ricochets. Jaina nodded and made a run for the comm unit.

Cray had let Lando and Han free, but now he had no idea what they had gotten into. Sitting in the escape pod, Cray had forced them into he noticed for the first time that outside the window below them was Yavin 4 .

All he knew was what he had been told by Cray. Bit by bit she was beginning to get her memory back, she had told Han and Lando to go to Yavin and wait for her there and that she would get Luke. His arguments against this were futile because he knew that if he stayed they would notice that he was not supposed to be there and have them all found out before they even had a chance to see if Luke was alright.

Now was the hard part . He would have to sit and wait to see what the future would hold.
